I help organizations communicate for impact.

Because I believe purpose-driven organizations are an integral part of building a more equitable future for everyone.

The motivation behind my work

I’m dedicated to making a positive change and believe that organizations with a purpose are bringing about lasting change. I am passionate about diversity in all senses of the word. On a personal level, I feel it is my responsibility to use my privileges to improve equity in the spaces and networks that I make a part of. In the first years of my career I used my communications expertise in the field of sexual health and gender equality. In recent years my focus has expanded to the financial industry, because I believe real change requires a shift in capital to support a more inclusive society. Through impact investments in companies that make a difference or investing in female founders and mixed teams, for example.

Content with a purpose

My theoretical background is in the socio-cultural analysis of gender, sexuality and diversity. I am trained in analysing and deconstructing the dominant narrative – the way the story of what is “normal” is told. This framework, to think through power dynamics, comes in handy in the social impact space. “Normal” won’t bring about change. And impact makers are in the business of change-making. The way we communicate about our work – and the way we address power dynamics – influences the scale of impact we create.

Taking a deep-dive with clients

I love moving between different worlds and being involved in various projects and companies simultaneously. Quite literally, as I work location-independent, mostly between San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Amsterdam (my home).

I highly value teamwork and the magic that happens when creative minds get together in a room (be it a Zoom room)! I prefer taking a deep dive with you and your organization, building long-term relationships over working on short-term gigs.

Passion projects

I believe some of the most important work that is being done is not getting the resources it deserves. The arts, feminist activist organizations, education… just to name a few. I always reserve some time for pro-bono work and for my own projects. If you’re interested in learning a little bit more about these ‘passion projects’, as I refer to them, read on here, read some posts on my work remote-travel blog, or follow along my experiential writing journey at Blended Belonging.

I am location independent, moving (mostly) between San Francisco and Amsterdam.

I believe the future of work is digital & flexible.
